IMSA Prototype Challenge Sebring

The second round of the IMSA Prototype Challenge was the the famed 12 hours of Sebring Florida.  I was still racing for Extreme Speed Motorsports, but was switched to the #30 Ligier LMP3 car with Kris Wright as my co-driver. Kris and I learned quickly that we did not have the car that we wanted to compete with the very fast Norma LMP3 cars.  We were still top 5 fast, but over a second from the Norma cars.  Kris elected to qualify and take first stint, I would finish the race.  Kris qualified third and took the green flag.  He drove a quality and consistent stint and handed the car to me in second.  I got in the car to find that the alignment had gone out and the brake bias was miss placed.  I got a chance under yellow to make some adjustments and put my head down.  Being held up by slower traffic I lost second position and fell to third.  On the second to last lap, I went into turn 17 side by side with another competitor for third.  I was the only car that came out and took the white, then checkered flag to great relief.  It was the toughest car and stint I have ever drive, and was ecstatic to bring it home third for my first podium of the year. Big thanks to Extreme Speed Motorsports for the hard fought weekend.
